Tennessee Bill Amending Fetal Homicide Law (HB 627)

HB 627 would have amended Tennessee’s fetal homicide law (T.C.A. 39-13-214(a) & 39-13-107) to specify that the victim of an assaultive offense or a homicide includes a human embryo or fetus at any stage of gestation in utero.
This bill additionally would have required that the victim be pregnant at the time of such criminal act in order for the victim of such an offense to include a human embryo or fetus at any stage of gestation in utero.
