Iowa ‘Personhood’ Bill (SF 253)

SF 253 would recognize that life is valued and protected from the moment of conception, and each life, from that moment, is accorded the same rights and protections guaranteed to all persons by the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Iowa, and the laws of Iowa.
The bill would prohibit the Iowa supreme court from having appellate jurisdiction over the provisions of this Act.
Companion bill to HF 297.
Similar to SF 417, which failed to pass in 2015.
