SB 149 would trigger a statewide abortion ban if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.

Except in a medical emergency, a person who performs or attempts to perform an abortion would be committing a felony punishable by up to ten years imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $100,000.

The bill would also trigger an abortion ban in the state if an amendment to the United States Constitution is adopted that, in whole or in part, restores state authority to prohibit abortion.
