SB 569 prohibits awarding public funds to entities that perform abortions.  The state may not award a grant to pay the direct or indirect cost of performing, inducing, referring or counseling in favor of abortions.  No grant may be provided to an individual or entity, such as Planned Parenthood, that:

  • Performs or induces abortions, provides referrals or counsels in favor of elective abortions; or
  • Is an affiliate of a person or entity that performs/induces abortions, provides referrals or counsels in favor of elective abortions.

These restrictions would not apply to funding available through the Arkansas Medicaid Program.

STATUS

Enrolled.  SB 569 is now Act 996.
