Alaska Bill Regarding Wrongful Death of an Unborn Child – Jackson’s Law (HB 258)

HB 258 would allow parents who lost their unborn children through the unlawful or negligent actions of another person to be able to seek civil penalties.
The bill would not apply to cases of legal abortion, instances that occur during regular medical procedures and situations where the mother herself caused the death.
Died in Committee. The companion bill, SB 200, passed and was signed into law by Gov. Parnell on July 11, 2014.
