Making U.S. Foreign Assistance Work for Women and Girls in Ethiopia (Means No Global Gag Rule)

On July 5-9, 2010, three U.S. state legislators traveled with CHANGE to Ethiopia to better understand the role of U.S. foreign assistance in sexual and reproductive health care, including contraception. This video documents the findings and recommendations, aimed at improving the effectiveness of U.S. foreign assistance to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls in Ethiopia. All of these findings/recommendations indicate that a reinstatement of the Global Gag Rule would be catastrophic for women’s health – and the economic statuses of all persons – worldwide, and especially in poverty-stricken nations such as Ethiopia and Kenya.
