HB 244 would make it a crime for transgender individuals to use a public restroom that corresponds with their gender identity.

The bill would make it an act of public indecency for a person to knowingly use a public bathroom or changing facility designated to be used by a specific sex which does not correspond to the person’s sex identified at birth by the person’s anatomy.

If passed, transgender individuals could face imprisonment for up to six months and/or a fine of up to $750 for simply using a restroom.
