SB 5806 would require the state health care authority to assure that the total Medicaid rate paid for the services required for the provision of long acting reversible contraceptive methods is at least equivalent with the total rate paid for the services required to provide oral contraceptives.

This purpose of this bill is to ensure equitable access to all birth control methods in order to increase the use of  highly effective methods of birth control like long-acting reversible contraception, resulting in reduced rates of unintended pregnancies.
