HB 1667 would prohibit public agencies from requiring any contractor or any faith-based organization to agree to additional nondiscrimination provisions with respect to gender identity or sexual orientation.

Additionally, the bill would provide civil immunity for any business or nonprofit organization that does not provide any benefit or accommodation with respect to an individual’s gender identity or sexual orientation.

The bill defines “gender identity” to mean the gender-related identity, appearance, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual that do not correspond to the individual’s designated sex at birth as shown on the individual’s birth certificate.
