Texas Bill to Repeal Forced Ultrasound Law (SB 34)
This law was last updated on Oct 23, 2013
SB 34 would have repealed Texas’s forced sonogram law, HB 15, which interferes in the doctor-patient relationship and requires women to undergo an invasive, potentially medically unnecessary procedure and imposes a 24-hour waiting period before an abortion can be performed, or a two-hour waiting period if the woman certifies that she lives 100 miles or more from the nearest abortion provider.
This bill was introduced in the second special legislative session called by Gov. Rick Perry in 2013.
