HB 832 would require physicians who perform abortions at abortion facilities to complete and submit a monthly report to the health department on each abortion performed.  While physicians and patients were allowed to remain anonymous in the past, HB 832 would now only allow the patient to be anonymous in the report.  All information and records would still be kept confidential.

Physicians would need to submit the report no later than the 15th day of each month via a secure electronic reporting system.  Only physicians who perform one or more abortions during the preceding calendar month are required to file the reports for that month. If a report is late, a complaint would be filed against them with the Texas Medical Board.  The health department would be required to publish on its Internet website a monthly report containing aggregate abortion data.
