HR 1003 is a resolution condemning the passage of the “Reproductive Health Act” by the New York State Assembly.

The resolution is in response to the state of New York enacting the “Reproductive Health Act,” which removed abortion from the state’s criminal code and codified Roe v. Wade into New York State law.

The resolution falsely claims:

WHEREAS, our fellow Americans in the state of New York, not only having enacted a law permitting the murder of unborn persons in the last moment before the light beyond the womb; and

WHEREAS, our countrymen did compound their crime by taking the ghastly and egregious step of publicly celebrating such barbarous and inhuman acts.

The resolution further declares:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the House of Representatives of the Ninety-Fourth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that we confess an utter insufficiency of words to describe the horror and broken-heartedness we felt in learning of the unrighteous sacrilege the government of New York masqueraded under the guise of just law.

The resolution requests that the governor set forth a day of prayer to atone for the “crime of abortion.”
