HB 1214 would have expanded Medicaid eligibility for pregnancy-related services for pregnant women up to one hundred forty percent of the federal poverty level per household size.

STATUS

The version of the bill as introduced would have created a prenatal care program to provide for the medical care of unborn children whose mothers are undocumented immigrants. The introduced version was similar to HB 1158, which was introduced and failed to pass during the 2014 legislative session.

The bill was hoghoused — significantly amended — by the Senate Health and Human Services and then failed to pass.
