Full Bill Text

H.R. 4536 would amend the federal criminal code to make it a crime to recklessly dispose of or abandon fetal remains in a landfill or in any navigable waters of the United States.

The bill defines “fetal remains” to mean any part of a human fetus that is deceased by reason of an abortion, but does not include any such part that has been cremated.

A violator would be subject to a fine, up to three years in prison, or both.
