SB 694 would require a municipality, county, or political subdivision to restrict jurisdiction and the passage of ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations regarding discrimination in employment or accommodations to and in conformity with the state statute on the same subject, unless the municipality is otherwise expressly authorized by statute.

The bill would prohibit a municipality, county, or political subdivision from implementing an ordinance, resolution, rule or regulation that conflicts with, expands or is more stringent than a state statute relating to discrimination in employment or accommodations regardless of when the statute takes effect.

If passed, local communities would be prohibited from passing their own LGBTQ nondiscrimination laws.
