H.R. 219 would impose taxes on state and local bonds that are used to provide a facility owned or used—for any purpose—by an abortion provider, unless the facility only performs abortions in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the life of the pregnant person.

The bill would allow the Department of the Treasury to exempt certain hospitals from being considered an abortion provider by making the name of the hospital available on Treasury’s public website.
