HB 586 would allow members of the judiciary and boards of supervisors to refuse to officiate rites of matrimony if such an action would violate a sincerely held religious belief.

No Supreme Court Justice or any judge of the Court of Appeals, a circuit court, chancery court, county court, justice court, or any member of a board of supervisors would face adverse action for refusing to officiate a marriage that violated their religious beliefs.
