SJR 2001 is a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa specifying that the Constitution of the State of Iowa does not secure or protect a fundamental right to abortion and that the people retain the right through the enactment of laws by members of the general assembly, subject to the approval of the governor, to prohibit or restrict or otherwise regulate the performance of abortions.
