Indiana Insurance Coverage for Abortion Ban (SB 335)
This law was last updated on Dec 8, 2014
SB 335 would have prohibited any accident and sickness insurance policy issued for delivery in Indiana as well as any HMO that provides coverage under a group contract from providing coverage for abortion except in the following cases except for when the abortion is necessary to prevent a substantial permanent impairment of the life or physical health of the pregnant woman.
Unlike HB 1123 which passed in March 2014, this bill does not contain an exception for rape or incest.
Similar to HB 1123 which Gov. Pence signed into law in March 2014.
