Full Bill Text

SB 427 would have amended the Georgia Federal Abortion Mandate Opt-Out Act (SB 98) to require that any health insurance plan offered in Georgia through a state law or an insurance exchange created by the Affordable Care Act which does not provide abortion coverage if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest to offer supplemental coverage for abortion services at an additional cost to the insured.

The bill also would have permitted state employees’ health insurance plans to cover abortion services for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest.
