SB 1374 would have amended Arizona’s informed consent statute (A.R.S. § 36-2153 and A.R.S. § 36-2158) to add a requirement that all private agencies listed on the Arizona Department of Health website as providing pregnancy-related information must provide its clients information about all pregnancy-related options, including the right to a legal abortion, or post a sign in a conspicuous location that the agency does not provide information about abortion services.

This bill would have curbed the deceptive practices of crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) and required them to be honest about the types of services and counseling that CPCs provide. It would have ensured that women who visit crisis pregnancy centers are receiving comprehensive counseling.
