Bill is Back, This Time on Abortion

Bill Clinton blasts anti-choice hecklers disrupting his speech, inserting himself back into the middle of his wife's campaign after a few weeks of relative quiet. This time his anger is aimed at the right people.

Former President Bill Clinton, campaigning for his wife Sen. Hillary Clinton in Steubenville, OH, lashed out at anti-choice hecklers holding up signs, saying,

We disagree, you want to penalize women and their doctors … I reduced abortion … Tell the truth, if you were really pro-life you would want to put every doctor and every mother, as an accessory to murder, in prison and you won't say you want to do that because you wouldn't have a lick of political support … You can't name me anybody presently in politics that did more to introduce policies that reduced the number of real abortions instead of the hot air you’re putting out to tear people up …

Pro-choice voters, regardless of party, can easily applaud former President Clinton’s strong response reminding Americans who the real extremists are in the debate over abortion. As he once again inserts himself and his record into the presidential campaign between Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama, at least this time he's aiming his anger in the right direction.
