Rachael Lorenzo

Rachael Lorenzo (Mescalero Apache/Laguna Pueblo/Xicana) is the founder of Indigenous Women Rising (IWR), a collective that uplifts indigenous-led community organizing and ensures reproductive justice movements are inclusive of indigenous women and families.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration, both from the University of New Mexico. She is pansexual and an indigenous mother of two, Adalie and Jude. She raises her children with her husband, Justin, in Albuquerque.  Rachael spends time weight lifting, relearning what her ancestors taught, and bringing lessons learned to inform and strengthen the foundation of IWR.
