Repeal Hyde Art Project
Megan Smith is a reproductive justice activist and artist exploring creative techniques to combine art and activism. She is the founder of the Repeal Hyde Art Project, a community art installation raising awareness of and increasing dialogue about the Hyde Amendment. Since its inception in August 2011, it has been used by organizations and student groups across the country as an educational platform to address the Hyde Amendment. Additionally, Megan’s play The Waiting Room, based on her experiences working at an abortion fund, has been produced three times, raising over $3500 for local abortion funds. Megan also blogs for Abortion Gang, volunteers for the Eastern Massachusetts Abortion (EMA) Fund, and works at Ibis Reproductive Health.
