Ian Vandewalker

Ian Vandewalker is a Legal Fellow with the U.S. Legal Program.
Prior to joining the Center, he served as the Rockefeller Brothers Fund
Fellow in Nonprofit Law at the Vera Institute of Justice, where he
worked in the general counsel’s office. Before that, Vandewalker
clerked for the Honorable Frederic Block of the Eastern District of New
York. He earned his JD cum laude from New York University
School of Law, where he served on the boards of the NYU Review of Law
and Social Change and Law Students for Reproductive Justice. During law
school, he was an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellow; his
areas of focus for the fellowship were the First Amendment and
reproductive rights. He holds an MA in philosophy from Indiana
University and a BA from New College of Florida.
