On Thursday, November 20, the first ever live-streamed abortion speak-out will feature a diverse group of 100 women who will discuss their personal experiences with abortion and abortion care.
Hosted by the 1 in 3 Campaign, and streaming live on this page beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern time, the event is part of a national movement aimed at refocusing the national debate on abortion from a political issue to a personal one.
“One in three women will experience an abortion in her lifetime, yet abortion continues to be stigmatized, women shamed and providers demonized,” said Debra Hauser, president of Advocates for Youth, which sponsors the 1 in 3 Campaign. “We are telling our stories on November 20th and throughout the year to shatter the silence, break through the political rhetoric, and put women’s real life experiences at the center of efforts to ensure abortion access for women and their families.”
Stream began at 1:35pm ET Thursday.
