Rewire is delighted to announce that on May 1, 2013, Adele Stan will join our team as our senior Washington correspondent.

Stan previously served as the Washington bureau chief for AlterNet, where she covered the Tea Party movement from its earliest days, in addition to writing on general politics and religion. Stan’s work has appeared in Mother Jones, The Nation, The American Prospect and on the op-ed pages of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle. She began her career at Ms. magazine, and is the editor of two anthologies: Debating Sexual Correctness (Dell), and Dangerous Brew: Exposing the Tea Party’s Agenda to Take Over America (AlterNet Books, co-edited with Don Hazen).

“Stan is known for her devotion to evidence-based reporting, investigative journalism, and sharp and insightful commentary,” said Jodi Jacobson, President and Editor-in-Chief of Rewire. “As Rewire’s senior Washington correspondent, Stan will cover federal policy and Capitol Hill, reporting on a wide range of reproductive and sexual health, rights, and justice issues. She joins a growing team devoted to daily publication of high quality evidence-based news, analysis, commentary, and investigative reporting on our core issues.”

“We are delighted to have her and look forward to the expanded capacity and brainpower she brings to our team.”
