One Republican has found an ingenious way to justify a tax increase. He thinks the county needs more law enforcement officials to prepare for the coming civil war if the president is re-elected. And it’s unclear exactly which side he’s hoping he’s arming.
Lubbock County Judge Tom Head is convinced that Mr. Obama winning a second term would lead to a revolt by the American people and he’s is pushing a tax increase for the district attorney’s office and the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office. He says the money is needed to “beef up” its resources in case President Obama wins the November election.
In the event of civil unrest Judge Head said he’s concerned the President would hand over sovereignty of the United States to the U.N. and that the American public would react violently.

“He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the U.S. to the United Nations, what’s going to happen when that happens?” Judge Head told FOX 34 in Lubbock.
“I’m thinking worse case scenario,” Judge Head explained. “Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe…we’re not just talking a few riots or demonstrations.”
This appears to be another move on behalf of a member of the interposition movement, where lawmakers are being recruited who believe it is their job to decide what is and isn’t officially constitutional and make arrests off of that. Recently, we met a sheriff who said he would use deadly force if necessary to end abortion, and that if the district attorney would not prosecute someone he arrested for murder for terminating a pregnancy, he would arrest the D.A. as well. Now, we see that there are judges involved as well, as discussion on a conservative message board surmises.
Expect these declarations to grow as we head closer to the election. What happens after is anybody’s guess.
