Anti-Choice Activists Tell Board “Get Creative” To Find A Way To Close Local Planned Parenthood

Yes, they really are looking for anything that can act as an excuse to shut the provider down.

Anti-choice activists want the only Planned Parenthood that provides abortions in their county to be shut down, and they are calling on the local board of supervisors to make that happen.

By any means possible.

At a recent supervisors meeting, the coalition showed the board a thick sheaf of 5,500 petitions signed by county residents, many of them from Warminster. The document asks that the township file a petition in local and state courts to void the zoning variance that allowed abortions at the facility. It also requests that the township pass a zoning ordinance to prevent abortion facilities from opening in the township.

“We’re just asking the board to think about this and get creative. Ask, is this really right for the residents of Warminster?” coalition member Rose McKevit asked the board.

The board has noted that they cannot pass zoning ordinances to specifically prohibit one type of business, such as providing abortions.
