National Right To Life ASTOUNDED That Visits To The White House Must Be Planned In Advance

Robin Marty

GASP!  Pregnant women might actually have children BEFORE they make it to D.C.!

In what can only be described as perhaps one of the lamest attempts to grasp at publicity straws yet, National Right To Life is attempting to claim that the Obama administration is hypocritical for supporting a woman’s right to chose while at the same time demanding that guests who will be touring the White House must provide “security information” for “unborn children.”

Via LifeNews:

Douglas Johnson, National Right to Life’s legislative director, commented on the juxtaposition between the White House visitor log policy and its abortion policy.

“It is ironic that President Obama’s staff recognizes the existence of unborn babies for purposes of providing security within the White House — yet, there is no indication that President Obama has any problem with the fact that throughout the District of Columbia, abortion is now legal for any reason up to the moment of birth,” he told LifeNews.

“Notably, the newsletter provides no guidance on what the staff should do if an unborn baby is first registered for security purposes, but then aborted,” Johnson added.

Of course, the allegations are ridiculous.  The actual protocol is really about arranging a tour for guests who are planning out their trip, not an “are children ‘people?'” policy.

According to a guide on how to set up a White House tour, all arrangements must be made at least one month in advance, but can be done up to six months early through your congressional representative. In order to provide clearance, each member of the tour must provide name, age and if applicable social security information. So of course, if a woman is pregnant and due in two months, and the trip is scheduled to happen in three months or beyond, her then-already-born child would need to be pre-registered.

Is National Right to Life being willfully ignorant, or just unbelievably desperate to attack the administration and a woman’s right to choose? At this point, they both look a lot alike.
