The mandatory ultrasound bill introduced by Democratic Rep. Karen MacBeth, who believed Planned Parenthood should have helped her more when she was trying to find resources to support her pregnancy when she was a single mother, wasn’t the only reproductive bill to be heard in the House judiciary committee last week. The committee’s chairwoman countered with a bill of her own.
The “keep government out of pregnancy” bill.
According to the Providence Journal, “The committee’s chairwoman, Rep. Edith H. Ajello, was the lead sponsor on a bill to ‘prohibit the state from interfering’ with a woman’s decision about her pregnancy.”
