Michigan “Choose Life” Plates Move to Senate

At least the donations would go to a group that actually exists.

Are anti-choice license plates becoming the new go-to agenda item in the 2012 legislative session?  Yesterday, Wisconsin proposed a plate, and now Michigan legislators are moving ahead with theirs, too.

Via The Republic:

Legislation that would allow the license plate linked to Right to Life of Michigan is scheduled to be discussed Tuesday by the Senate Transportation Committee.

The legislation would allow Michigan residents to buy a “Choose Life” license plate with a portion of the money going to Right to Life. The organization says the money would go to abortion prevention projects.

Unlike Wisconsin, Michigan’s proceeds would go to a group that actually exists.  But it’s unclear whether the “Choose Life” plates will be as popular as the NASCAR plates also being proposed.
