Zina Saunders is an award-winning illustrator whose work appears in national magazines and newspapers and whose political satires have amused or outraged her audience, depending on which side of the aisle they sit. This piece was originally published at Mother Jones:
Mother Jones illustrator Zina Saunders creates editorial animations riffing on the political news and current events of the week. In this week’s animation, House Republicans are pushing three radical anti-abortion bills that seek to strangle women’s rights and freedom. They propose raising taxes on abortions, redefining rape and incest, and allowing hospitals to refuse to perform abortions in cases where it would save the woman’s life. As always, that is Saunders singing. —The Editors
