Santorum: Health of the Mother Is “Phony” Abortion Exception

I guess a "real mom" would be willing to suffer and die for her fetus.

Pre-eclampsia?  Cancer?  Heart disease? None of these are real issues pregnant women might suddenly find themselves facing, according to presidential candidate Rick Santorum.  If a woman and her doctor decide that a pregnancy needs to be terminated in order for the mother to have the best chance of survival, especially in order to care for past or future children, well, apparently that’s just a “phony” reason for an abortion.  She should hold off all treatments until she gives birth instead, regardless of the risk, according to Think Progress.
