Department of Health And Human Services Say “No” To Indiana

The HHS states that Indiana cannot deny federal Medicaid money to Planned Parenthood.

Despite Governor Mitch McConnell’s best efforts, the Department of Health and Human Services has stepped in and told the state of Indiana that it cannot in fact deny statewide Planned Parenthood affiliates federal Medicaid dollars for family planning.

… [T]he U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says Indiana’s plan illegally prevents Medicaid beneficiaries from receiving services. Federal law “requires Medicaid beneficiaries to be able to obtain services from any provider qualified to provide services.”

Now, to see if the state obeys the rule, or turns down the Medicaid funding all together.
