Donald Trump Is Full of Nonsense About the ‘Very, Very Dishonest’ Media

Did you know that there are terrorist attacks occurring all around you, but the “very, very dishonest” media doesn’t want you to know about them?

Well, it’s true—in Trumpland.

Trump gave his first speech to members of the military on Monday, and he decided to use the opportunity to accuse the media of burying coverage of terrorist attacks.

In his desperation to defend his wildly unconstitutional Refugee and Visa Order, also known as the Muslim ban, Trump spouted a hot stream of nonsense to a group of military service members at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

From the Hill:

Speaking at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., Trump rattled off a series of strikes carried out by “radical Islamic terrorists” … “It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported,” he told a group of senior commanders. “And in many cases, the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it.”

The president implied that media organizations have an ulterior motive to bury coverage of the attacks. “They have their reasons and you understand that,” he said.

You got that?

The media is in cahoots with I-don’t-know-who—Big Gay, Big Islam, and Big Abortion, probably—to keep you in the dark, citizen, about the terrorist attacks that are happening all around you and that you don’t know about. In fact, you’re probably on fire right now, but don’t know it because the “failing” New York Times and “fake news” CNN won’t report about it.

This is obviously ridiculous. Any time someone brown so much as sneezes in a suspicious manner, the mainstream news blankets the airwaves with coverage about it. There are no unreported terrorist attacks—and by “terrorist attacks,” I mean “attacks committed by radical Muslims,” because those are the only ones Trump apparently cares about.

During that same conference, as the Hill reported, Trump named 9/11, the Boston Marathon bombing, the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, and the shooting in San Bernardino, California, to justify the ban, even though none of the attackers involved in those incidents hailed from countries the order encompasses.

Let me repeat: Not a single attacker involved in any terrorist plot on U.S. soil cited by Donald Trump was from any of Trump’s targeted countries.

When it comes to the media—and to justifications for his Muslim ban—Donald Trump continues to be full of crap. Trust his word at your own peril.
